Igor Martiniouk is a Ukrainian-American Photographer based in Queens. In May 2024, he received a bachelor’s in history at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where he focused on conflict, colonization and media production. He wrote his thesis, “Zelensky and Unity Against Russia’s Invasion,” on the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War. During his academic journey, Igor documented student life for Vassar College’s communication department and was the photo editor at the student-run paper, the Miscellany News. In October 2021, his image “The Son of Covid Era Man” was featured in an exhibit funded by the Francis Lehman Art Center, “Connection in the Time of Covid.” Igor also curated and opened three exhibits, “Ukraine Before and After February 24th,” “Glory to the Heroes” and “Unbreakable,” where he collaborated with award-winning photographers Oksana Parafeniuk, Nicole Tung and Andriy Dubchak. In September 2024, Igor started studying in the Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism Program at the International Center for Photography, where he worked on a longterm project about youth in the Ukrainian Diaspora in New York. In May photos from this project will be exhibited at the ICP Museum as part of a group exhibit "Look Up."
